Bourgailh Park
In the south-west of the town, Bourgailh Park covers more than 25 hectares around a former landfill that has been fully rehabilitated. You discover a tropical greenhouse, a learning garden, a canopy walkway to see the forest from above, and trails for a walk in the green. Meeting on a Sunday morning, when families arrive with their picnics, offers a relaxed, airy setting for a first date without staging.
The Pin Galant, a major stage
A regional metropolitan stage since 1990, the Pin Galant hosts theatre, concerts, comedy and dance in a hall of more than 1,300 seats. Eclectic programming, careful acoustics and a friendly foyer: the perfect place for a cultural date to open the evening. After the show, the restaurants and bars around Place Charles-de-Gaulle easily carry on the conversation over a drink, just steps from the tram.
Château Luchey-Halde and Burck Wood
In Mérignac, the vineyard comes right into town with Château Luchey-Halde, a Pessac-Léognan AOP estate managed by the Bordeaux Sciences Agro school. Visits and tastings run by appointment, in an elegant setting. Not far off, Burck Wood offers fine cycle paths and a pond. On Lyad, Mérignac members share their favourite outings; it is up to you to find someone to start the next walk with.
